Turn The River is a stupid story, that is poorly directed, and just plain boring. David's mother, staunchly religious and unhappy at this turn of events, reported Kailey's illegal activities and then struck a deal with her to make her life easier in return for Kailey getting a divorce and giving away custody of Gulley.
The film stars X-men beauty Famke Janssen, who is quite good looking, but unfortunately very dry as an actress. It is left to the viewer to decide if she died or not.

The sense of storytelling intelligence is undeniable.
In New York City, Gulley, who's in middle school, lives with his father and step-mother; his paternal grandmother dominates the family's life.
Kailey eventually collects enough money and prepares to flee with her son in tow. Kailey learns that her son, Gulley, is being abused by his father and is being bullied in school.
In secret, he's recently been in touch with his mother, Kailey, a pool hustler, who wants to win big and take Gulley to Canada. Music Far from being superficial, this movie has more to it than 90 percent of stuff produced.
