It's a pretty intelligent and interesting film, actually, and it's kind of nice to see the vampire genre treated as something a bit more serious than either a blood-and-guts, 'the monsters are coming to get you in the night' gore-fest, or an overblown romance full of depressed teenagers. I mean, this looked like VHS tape that was digitized then interpolated up and down a few times, rerecorded onto a VHS tape, then played on an old-school TV while recorded with a VHS camcorder pointed at the TV screen, and then digitized again. The world that the film is set in is really original and quite fascinating, the explanation for the origin of vampires is one I've never heard before (these vampires are born from humans, not bitten and made,) and the acting, overall, is pretty good. The plot is unusual, and has a satisfying ending, one that, as far as I know, has not been alluded to before.
